The cerebral hemispheres and their functions

What are the cerebral hemispheres?

Cerebral hemispheres.
Each is responsible for specific tasks but are connected.  Each hemisphere is specialized in different functions, hence one of the fundamental aspects of brain organization constitute the functional differences between the two hemispheres, since it has been discovered that each specializes in different behaviors. Should also know that there is an inverse association between the two hemispheres and body. There fore, the right hemisphere is responsible for coordinating the movement of the left side of our body, and the left hemisphere coordinates right.

Right hemisphere functions

The right side is related to non-verbal expression. There is evidence that he placed the perception or spatial orientation, emotional behavior (right to express and capture emotions), the power to control those aspects of nonverbal communication, intuition, recognition and memory of faces, voices and melodies. The right brain thinks in pictures and remember. Several studies have shown that people in their dominant hemisphere is the right study, think, remember and learn in images, as if it were a silent movie. These people are very creative and have highly developed imagination.

Left hemisphere functions

The left hemisphere is dominant in most individuals. It appears that this half is the most complex, is related to the verbal. The are two structures that are closely related to linguistic ability of man, "Broca's Area" and "Wernicke's area (areas that specialize in the unique language and human). The specific function of "Broca's Area" is speaking, is the area that produces speech. Consequently, damage to this area produces aphasia, ie the subject impossible to speak and write. The "Wernicke's Area" has the specific function of language comprehension, as it is receptive speech area. If this area is damaged there is a difficulty to express and understand language. In addition to the verbal function, the left hemisphere has other functions as analytical skills, ability to engage in logical reasoning, abstraction, solving numerical problems, learn theoretical information, make inferences Is there a dominant hemisphere?

The hemisphere has been most studied has been left, as most studies suggest that it is the dominant hemisphere. It seems that in the left hemisphere dominates right-handed, left-handers and the right hemisphere. But this does not mean that both right-handed and unable to further develop the nondominant hemisphere, because as mentioned above are both connected. In fact, people who have highly developed brain, using both hemispheres simultaneously.

The most famous left-handed

Bill Gates. Has been considered the richest man in the world several times, also one of the richest in history according to our list yesterday, and is also the pride of the lefties. A study by the Research Department of U.S. State Economy, lefties earn more money than most people. It is possible that left-handers are more accustomed to divergent thinking and more creative.
Aristotle. The philosopher of ancient Griecia devoted to physics, astronomy, meteorology, and ethics in the beginning, laying the groundwork for modern science. His philosophy deeply influenced later generations, and transcribing all their knowledge in addition to his oratory, from his left hand.

Beethoven. The genius of this musician could be related to their status as left-handed, since according to some scientists who use their left hand more frequently than stand out more than the skilled in the arts. The reason is that there is more activity in the right hemisphere of the brain, which corresponds to the creative.
Albert Einstein. Albert Einstein wrote, usually with his right hand and touched a violin for rights (he was passionate about playing the violin), but he often showed listings of famous people who were left-handed. The reason was simple, he exhibited many key features of a lefty that became law. Einstein grew up in a Germany that hated dissent. This hatred extended to the classroom, where they took action to make rights-handed students. Einstein Was one of these students? Many current researchers thinks so, for what is considered a genius as a left-handed this over.
Leonardo Da Vinci. The greatest genius in history was left handed, which shows above her writing, because written from right to left, starting with the last page, ie, wrote in a mirror, because if not, the ink smudged his brilliant jobs.
